Cloisonné enameled short tea box, geometric deco black and white copper

Sparkling geometric black and white cloisonné tea jar with thin copper markings and rims. Made by French artist Fabienne Jouvin. The cloisonné is made by the ancient technique for metal decoration. The copper compartments are first added to the jar by fixing the thin copper strips on the jar’s edges. Then the jar is covered with enamel powder made into paste, which then needs to be fired in a kiln, resulting in vividly colored compartments with vitreous enamel. The copper remains visible in the finished piece and separates the different compartments
